This is an exciting opporutity to join a small but well established manufacturing business based on the ouskirts of Maidstone. This role is ideal for someone who has experience of overseeing the day to day running of production but would ike to remain 'hands-on.
Main duties:
- Managing a team of 3 to 4 machine operators
- Scheduling production
- Managing working hours and overtime in accordance with demand
- Operating machines
- Maintaining quality control
- Dispatching finished goods
- Purchasing raw materials, consumables and PPE
- Liaising with parcel/pallet carriers
- Loading and unloading lorries and vans
- Marshalling trucks and large vehicles in the yard and ensuring safe practices
- Moving raw materials into factory and taking finished goods from factory to warehouse
- Liaising with a few large customers to determine their requirements
- To be one of the Health and Safety co-ordinators
- Training of new staff
- Stocktaking
Desirable Skills, Experience and/or Qualifications
- Staff management experience
- Full driving licence (essential)
- Counterbalance forklift licence (essential for the role but training available if needed)
- Physically fit (must be able to lift pallets)

Hours:
- 40 per week Monday-Friday (days) with occasional weekends.
- Paid overtime available to meet demand.
