Production Manager - must have Sheet Metal/welding experience
Job Type: Permanent, full time with 25 days Holiday, + Bank holidays
Hours: 40-hour week, Monday – Friday (8:00am – 4:30pm) - potential to finish early on Fridays
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience - any overtime paid at x 1.5
About the role: As the Production Manager you will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of the production process. Your primary responsibilities will include creating efficient production schedules, supervising production processes, driving efficiency improvement throughout the manufacturing processes, along with leading a health & safety driven environment and managing a team and their development. You will need a strong background and understanding in Sheet Metal fabrication and welding.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective production schedules to optimise efficiency and meet production targets
- Supervise and coordinate production activities to ensure smooth and timely execution of projects
- Ensure that production equipment is regularly inspected and well-maintained to guarantee smooth operations and minimise downtime
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols across all production processes to maintain a safe working environment
- Implement quality control measures to uphold product standards and identify areas for improvement
- Provide effective leadership to production staff, fostering a positive work environment and enhancing productivity
- Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process optimisation
- Review team skill requirements and ensure cross training is maintained to enable a multiskilled team within all Sheet Metal production
Requirements for Production Manager:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role within the Sheet Metal industry
- Knowledge and understanding of stainless steel Sheet Metal
- Lean/Six Sigma knoweldge or qualication would be beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Knowledge of materials and production processes
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance and health & safety protocols
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide the production team
- Problem-solving aptitude to address challenges and implement improvements
- Proficiency in using relevant production software and tools
