Production Operations Coordinator

A prominent player in the medical equipment manufacturing industry, my client is currently seeking an experienced Production Operations Coordinator to join their facility in Hertfordshire. Specialising in medical gas equipment, our product range encompasses functional and straightforward devices, with assemblies ranging from five to fifty components.
Job Summary: As a Production Operations Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production planning process, managing stock, Bills of Materials (BOM), and Works Orders Instructions (WOI). Your responsibilities include effectively planning customer requirements to achieve expected delivery dates while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.
Key Requirements:
5+ years of experience in a lead role with proven manufacturing/production planning experience.
Interest in mechanical products and understanding of device functionality.
Familiarity with MRP systems.
Previous experience in an SME business is preferred.
Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
Strong computer skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and manage Customer Orders, prioritizing and allocating work to production for assembly.
Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning staff, establishing priorities, and monitoring progress.
Manage HR issues for direct reporting staff, including coaching, counselling, and disciplinary actions.
Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
Raise Works Instructions for sub-assemblies on Sales Orders and for building stock.
Monitor Works Instructions progress through production and manage BOMs for existing and new products.
Continually maintain data for stock items, including prices, minimum order quantities, lead times, and product information.
Identify stock component shortages and predict future usage based on stock usage history.
Ensure purchased products are delivered on time.
Conduct daily/weekly planning meetings with sales and production teams.
Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.

Mon - Thurs (8.15 - 4.45) Friday (8.15 - 1.15) / 4.5 days per week
Fridays are always Half Days
