Job Overview
Title: Production Scheduler
Reports to: Senior Production Manager
Location: Ballymoney
Hours: 39 hours per week
We have an exciting roadmap ahead for new products, services, production capacity and business expansion. As a result of this continued success, we are expanding our teams in (Insert Location). We currently have opportunities for a Production Scheduler
The Production Scheduler will be responsible for communicating with all stakeholders within the business to develop and maintain production plans for all areas of the operation to satisfy our customer demands. This will involve near-term capacity planning as well as managing the forecast for long range material planning whilst considering current inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity. The Production scheduler will also be heavily involved as part of a cross functional team planning the introduction of extensive new product and options within the business.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create Master Production Schedule to ensure customer requirements are fully met
  • Drive, promote and develop positive communication with all departments to improve forecast accuracy
  • Responsible for producing production plans in line with factory production line capacities and sales forecast
  • Work as part of cross functional team to ensure there is adequate capacity available to meet short term Sales and Operational Planning demand and longer-term strategic plans.
  • Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects
  • Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies
  • Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the master production plan, including manufacturing lead times
  • Monitor and report on daily production outputs and ensure high levels of schedule adherence are achievable and realistic
  • Minimize costs and inventory to ensure company objectives are achieved
  • Ensures system data is accurate through regular maintenance of Bills of Material, Production routings, lead-times and system parameters.

About you
Experience Level & Required Qualifications:
  • Must have experience in production planning/scheduling, ideally from a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Previous ERP system planning experience, with full understanding of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP), Works Order Management (WO) and Inventory Management(IM)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong proactive approach is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills needed
  • Collaborative interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to drive process improvement
