Job Title: Production Shift Manager

Salary Up to GBP64,000, + car allowance + annual bonus
Contract: Permanent, 2:30pm 11:15pm

The role
Reporting to the Operations Controller you will effectively and efficiently oversee the management of the shift, ensuring that customer requirements are achieved in line with product specifications and that production yields are attained at all times.
Manage the team by coaching and motivating staff and assigning tasks that sometimes require challenging the norm.
Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations.
Ensure that the target productivity level is achieved daily through the effective management of staffing levels and skills on the appropriate lines, ensure that lost production time is kept to a minimum and to minimise the waste of raw materials, packaging and consumables.
Making sure that all statutory (industry guidelines), legal, food safety & customer requirements are met, whilst maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department.
The person
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to effectively manage a team, and a solid understanding of food safety and quality control standards. You will also have experience in production planning and scheduling, as well as a thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations within the food industry. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for addressing any issues that may arise during the production process.
The ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure, combined with strong communication and organisational skills.
