Our client a fresh produce distribution company in Ashton-under-Lyne are looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- To organize the packing of assigned products and assess daily orders.
- Verify the distribution of workers among the manufacturing lines and record any absences.
- Examine product quality while adhering to ISO 9001 standards, all under the direction of the regional manager.
- Oversee the training of packers on different fruit varieties; new, "new to position," or under performing packers receive training.
- Oversee the manufacturing process on the line, reporting to the regional manager and finding any bottlenecks or other problems.
- Monitoring and making sure the packers under your charge take their breaks for the appropriate amount of time and reporting any problems to the regional manager.
- Submit packer issues report to the regional manager.
- Making sure that there are no H&S hazards in the operation areas (such as broken or unsafe equipment, pallet straps on the floor, empty packing, slick floors, potentially dangerous actions, or situations, etc.), and promptly reporting any such hazards to the regional manager.
- Ensuring that all employees follow working procedures, maintain neat workstations, and comply with H&S regulations.
Requirements:
- Has a leadership and "hands-on" mindset.
- Experience working as a team leader or supervisor (1-2 years).
- Proficient and lucid written and oral English communication abilities.
- A sensible individual who sets a good example.
- It is imperative to pay close attention to details and be willing to pursue greatness.
- Self-assured in decision-making and equipped to deliver a "difficult message" when necessary.
- Strong organizing abilities.
- A forklift licence is optional but advantageous.
- Driven and full of energy.
Working hours: 40 hours per week. Shifts are set to 5 nights per week, starting:
- Sunday evening 10.00 pm - Monday morning 07.00 am
- Monday evening 10.00 pm - Tuesday morning 06.00 am
- Tuesday evening 10.00 pm - Wednesday morning 06.00 am
- Wednesday evening 10.00 pm - Thursday morning 06.00 am
- Thursday evening 11.00 pm - Friday morning 06.00 am
