LINKS Recruitment Group are pleased to present a fantastic opportunity for a Production Shift Supervisor to play an integral part of the manufacturing/production team that offers the opportunity to work within an industry leading international manufacturing company based in Abedare who are continuously growing and achieving company goals year on year. 

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations and safety of all production lines and production personnel. Developing your own methods, systems and strategies, oversee the safe optimization of operations using world class operating practices. Liaising with the planning department to allocate labour and production runs and oversee processes and production.

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the training of the operators to follow SOPs and to oversee the safe operation in the manufacture of materials whilst ensuring quality is adhered to.
• Uses TPM as part of the production lines control whilst ensuring the upkeep of data and KPI analysis. Ensures the proper organization of production rooms and leads the operators within their lines.
• Responsible for Health and Safety, Quality performance and the production KPIs.
• Responsible for the measurement of product properties such as Quality Assurance to ensure finished goods consistently meets specifications.
• Makes sure metrics are updated and clear communication is given to area manager and operators.
• Ensuring all efforts are made to hit 1ST Time and 2nd Time Yields targets.
• To Control the usage of third party materials to maximize usage.
• Adopt the methodologies of lean management.
• Manage team to ensure performance of shift is maximized through coaching and guidance.
• Leads by example to promote Safety first and Quality culture.
• Responsible for the safety of others working in the manufacturing floor.
• Responsible for production, production facilities, Health and Safety within the department. (Including Risk Assessments and BBS Observations)
• Maintenance & Engineering department to optimize finished goods attributes and processing conditions with the use of SPC tools, thus ensuring quality that consistently meets customers’ specifications.
• Leading through a process based culture, promotes consistent operations through the creation and optimization of SOP’s oriented to maximize utilization of resources in all aspects of the operation.
• Coordinates with the Maintenance & Engineering area in implementing TPM practices designed to cover the most fundamental maintenance routines as well as actively participating in the periodical PM of the lines.
• Manages compliance to operating departmental budgets and manufacturing KPI’s implementing Controls and Records using world class manufacturing practices and project management disciplines to consistently meet and exceed performance expectations.
• Able to demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting ability. Knows how to diagnose malfunctions (process/quality/technical) and knows how to remedy them as part the process.
• Understands the different parts of the line, their functions and influential parameters.

Desirable Skills: 

• Formal leadership, Production Management, supervisory or equivalent experience.
• Team leading, supervisory or management skills with 2+ years of experience in production
• Understanding of production lines and manufacturing processes
• General understanding of Health & Safety and compliance
• A confident communicator and ability to oversee and supervise a team
