This is a fantastic development opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join our team in a new, purpose built department within Compounding. With a high emphasis on visible Leadership, accountability and building a real team ethos, this role is ideal for anyone looking to progress in their career and for someone who wants to make a difference in our quest to deliver products timely and accurately while ensuring world class customer service in the process.

The Team Leader will have a high emphasis on visible Leadership, accountability and building a real team culture. Under the guidance of the Senior Team Leader and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading, driving and managing a manufacturing team responsible for Compounding medicine, supplying the UK and Ireland market.

The role requires the ability to develop strong working relationships with the team and to develop exceptional leadership and management skills to drive and develop the team.

You will work Monday – Friday rotating shifts of 06:00-14:00 and 13:00-21:00 however you will be required to work days during training, so we do ask for some flexibility during the first few months. We offer a competitive salary and shift allowance as well as some fantastic benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to the Senior Technicians duties the EC Team Leader responsibilities include:

• To coach less experienced Technicians on the EC processes, good manufacturing practices, efficiency improvements etc.
• To become an area expert
• Day to day management, organizing, driving and leading a team of production technicians.
• Maximizing the efficiency of the equipment and resources in the manufacturing area
• Monitoring, controlling and adjusting manufacturing process during production hours.
• Responsible for organizing daily tasks and setting goals for the team to meet expectations and company targets for manufacturing KPI’s.
• Responsible for leading in resolving issues that might affect safety, compliance, output, business ethics etc
• Through a strong presence on the workplace, coach and mentor staff to ensure all critical processes are executed with a sense of purpose in compliance to Baxter internal processes as well as ensuring documentation is completed in accordance with GMP, Standard Operating Procedures and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Ensure timely completion of relevant deviation and complaint investigations to identify true root cause and the elimination of future re-occurrences.
• Contribute to CI activities & Succession planning and contribute to the setting of objectives for the team, and assist in the appraisal of the performance of individual team members on a day-to-day basis and also, using Baxter tools, e.g. ACE check ins, ensure individuals are focused on activities that will support the EC objectives and ensure patient supply and customer satisfaction.
• Take ownership of your own personal development plan and complete the TIP’s training program.
• Specific tasks: Support to Senior Team Leader, Allocation of resource, generate pick lists, re-print labels, stock movements, daily register, FMS alarms, re-allocation of Batches, CCTV reviews, CPI’s, organize clean room staff entry, organize break cover, record and update data records, absence cover for Senior Team Leader and any other tasks requested by EC management Team.

• Suitable and appropriate people skills to lead a successful Production Team
• Strong sense of commitment and responsibility that recognizes the importance of our role and the direct relationship between production performance and our patients welfare.
• Sense of ownership and pride in own and team performance and its impact on the company’s success
• Good time-management skills
• Capable of working under pressure, to tight deadlines
• Excellent Stakeholder management skills
• Hands on experience with shopfloor management
• Experienced in leading and developing teams
• Excellent verbal and formal communication skills, together with critical reasoning skills.
• Experience within Risk Assessment, and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent understanding of GMP/cleanroom environment
• A sense of compassion and understanding of where our product is going (to patients in hospitals or in their homes)
