We have a great opportunity for a Production Team Leader in our Kerry site in Portadown, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland.

This role is for full-time, permanent contract. Hours of work are 06:00 to 14:30, Monday to Friday, with available overtime with increased rate.


Kerry Portadown is a well-established site with about 150 colleagues. We produce variety of cheeses in different forms.

There is a limited public transport in the area, so you might need to commute by a car.

What will you be doing as Production Team Leader?

You will play essential part in building and developing Production Team, including induction of new team members, developing current employees by training, coaching, feedback and skill assessments, assisting with their career development initiatives and address any concerns and issues.


You will ensure that the performance targets are met by the team in adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety standards. When any problem arises, you will be a key person in process of addressing or escalating issues.


Whenever possible, you will be open to cooperate with your and other teams to improve processes by using 8 Step Practical Problem Solving and other KPS methodologies.


You will manage team’s day to day work and help organising covers for planned and unplanned absence.


You will monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness and make sure that data about production operations is captured and reported.


What do you need to be successful?


  • Great communication skills, both written and spoken. Fluent English.
  • Numerical abilities to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes. Relevant experience in a manufacturing operation, ideally in food industry.
  • Good leadership skills. Understanding of people processes needed to build high performing teams.
  • Ability to identify and plan improvements.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment.
  • Open-minded and eager to learn and grow.
  • Understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing (desirable)
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools (desirable)
