First Subsea, based in Lancaster and part of the First Tech Group, has gone through a major transition in the last five years, transitioning from oil and gas projects to offshore renewables projects where we supply a range of bespoke and patented products, such as; lifting and recovery tools, and cable protection systems. All our products are designed, assembled and tested in-house, and we have recently opened a dedicated manufacturing & production facility for our cable protection systems.
As demand has grown for the products and services provided by First Subsea, the need for talented people has also grown in parallel.
The Role?
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking experienced Production Technician(s) to join our team on a full time, permanent basis based in Lancaster.
The primary functions of this position are to assemble, test, and pack high value, large, safety critical engineered products.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar position within an engineering, vehicle, fitting, maintenance, or similar position.
What will you do?
- Carry out assembly to the documentation and drawings supplied
- Working within the Companies ISO9001 & ISO45001 procedures and systems
- Completion of job cards and test records to ensure product traceability
- Problem solving any issues with the Design team and Workshop supervisor
- Special assembly work and R&D products
- Function and any special testing in accordance with instructions
- Liaising with Clients during inspection and test visits
- Performing of proof load tests and liaising with the Project and Engineering teams
- Ensure all parts are correctly identified with the appropriate identification numbers
- Ensure parts are stored in the correct areas
- Generate kits of parts and perform stock checks, identifying component shortages
- Ensure product traceability throughout the inspection, assembly, and testing process
- Complete work in a timely and efficient manner
- Fault finding and inspection of assemblies
- General workshop operations as required.
- Assist with any other duties as required.
Your Qualifications & Experience?
Essential:
- Previous experience within an engineering, vehicle, fitting, maintenance, or similar role
- Ability to read Engineering drawings
- Computer literate with good MS Office skills
Preferred:
- Experienced in the use of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms
- Forklift Certification
- Confined Space Entry
- Safe use of pressure systems
- Banksman / Slinger & Overhead Crane Gantry use
