Job Summary:

This is a Supervisory position that will be responsible for managing a production schedule, technicians and overall performance of designated value stream. You will be responsible for meeting Caterpillar’s goals for People, Quality, Velocity and Cost that support a 24/7 operation.

Job Duties / Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes

  • Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules

  • Determines priorities and sequences jobs

  • Schedules and prioritises constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements

  • Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate

  • Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules

  • Ensures pre shift checks are adhered to in line with company policy

  • Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others

  • Evaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training

  • Section Value Stream Mapping

  • Actively deploys section value stream improvements

  • Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles

  • Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members

  • Drives root cause corrective action projects and drives continuous improvement

  • Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics

  • Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures

  • Responsible for training and development of staff, time keeping, with a focus on safe home every day

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Previous management experience

  • Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for leading and developing teams

  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise a varied range of work

  • A sense of urgency & ownership when problem solving

  • Experience in monitoring/managing time keeping and attendance (T&A) and performance.

  • Motivation to drive required tasks based on own initiative

  • Demonstrated passion for Quality

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Teams

Salary: £38,500-£45,000 depending on experience
