Job Summary:
This is a Supervisory position that will be responsible for managing a production schedule, technicians and overall performance of designated value stream. You will be responsible for meeting Caterpillar’s goals for People, Quality, Velocity and Cost that support a 24/7 operation.
Job Duties / Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes
Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
Determines priorities and sequences jobs
Schedules and prioritises constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements
Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules
Ensures pre shift checks are adhered to in line with company policy
Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others
Evaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training
Section Value Stream Mapping
Actively deploys section value stream improvements
Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles
Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members
Drives root cause corrective action projects and drives continuous improvement
Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics
Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures
Responsible for training and development of staff, time keeping, with a focus on safe home every day

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Previous management experience
Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently
Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for leading and developing teams
Ability to plan, organise and prioritise a varied range of work
A sense of urgency & ownership when problem solving
Experience in monitoring/managing time keeping and attendance (T&A) and performance.
Motivation to drive required tasks based on own initiative
Demonstrated passion for Quality
Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Teams

Salary: £38,500-£45,000 depending on experience
