You will be part of the world-renown Institute of Sound and Vibration Research which has been at the forefront of sound and vibration research since its inception nearly 60 years ago. You will have access to our excellent specialist acoustics and vibration testing facilities and to the wider facilities in the School of Engineering, and opportunities to forge collaborations across the wider Faculty of Engineering and Physical Science.
About the role
We are seeking a professor in Aeroacoustics to join the Acoustics Group in the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research to strengthen our world leading team in areas around noise from and around propulsion systems, airborne vehicles, electric aircrafts, drones, airports, and towns.

About you
You will be someone who wants to work in a collaborative team environment, makes use of our world-leading facilities and have a passion for mentoring more junior staff and PhD researchers. You will have demonstrated track record in leading large research programs, attracting substantial research funding from a variety of national and international sources. You have a demonstrated track record in attracting funding for research facilities and the ability to oversee their planning, construction, and management. You have a national and international reputation in Aeroacoustics demonstrated by collaborations in research, policy, and publications. You have a demonstrated track record in teaching to the highest quality across a range of modules and to all levels as well as in supervising research projects on all levels including PhD. You have a proven ability to communicate research in the community and an outstanding publication record. Highly organised, with communication skills, you’ll be ready to manage activities, motivate colleagues and contribute to the leadership of the School.
