Role Title: Programme Director

Location: Remote (Occasional visit to Warwick for team collaborations)

Duration: Initial 6 Months

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

They are a high-profile, leading utilities company, providing essential services to millions nationwide. As they embark on a strategic journey to enhance operational efficiency, they are initiating a series of pivotal business separation projects. These initiatives are critical to their future growth and commitment to sustainability and innovation in the utilities sector.

ROLE PURPOSE AND DELIVERABLES:

Our Clients crucial project is a timebound project responsible for the separation of a large, key area of Business, as required by HM Government, to facilitate the creation of the new independent system operator within UK government.

This role is to successfully programme manage the separation workstream with a heavy focus on readiness and cutover.

  • Deliver the strategy to enable the separation.
  • Manage the detailed day-to-day aspects of multiple workstreams that underpin the programme.
  • Refine existing programme controls, governance, and standards.
  • Ensure timelines and due dates are delivered.
  • Assure programme documentation produced by the PMO.
  • Track and mitigate programme risks and issues.
  • Solve programme problems.
  • Communicate programme objectives, goals, and progress to Programme Directors, executives, upper management, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present progress to all levels of the organisation.
  • Manage a complex set of internal and external stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Drive internal and external stakeholders to deliver their obligations to ensure the programme is successful.
  • Lead and deliver the readiness and cutover workstream.
  • Support the Separation Director by being the eyes and ears of the operational separation.

DESIREABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of leading large complex programme and or M&A programme management for a portfolio
  • Knowledgeable in change management principles
  • Cutover/Test and Readiness leadership
  • Experience working with HM government.
