The role will engage the public and stakeholders in the Council's ambitious Future Asset Strategy. The officer will have good experience of developing and leading meaningful resident and stakeholder engagement in community settings, ensuring that the public gets a real influence in decision making. To do this requires working with the communities most impacted by the Council proposals, including some of our diverse communities which are seldom heard in our engagement work. The role will involve working with programme managers to determine the best route to engagement on a number of high profile projects. Time will be equally spent in the community, leading discussions and events with stakeholders and the public, and desk time spent developing the engagement programme, seeking data on communities and their needs, recording findings, developing insight and reporting on outcomes. The officer will need to spent time directly engaging with Hounslow's community at locations across the borough, this will involve some evening or weekend working, for which there is time off in lieu. There is no typical week for this role as it is focused on working with the community, but as a rough rule the officer could expect to be able to work from home on about 2 days per week. This is a busy and exciting role, working on a prominent programme. It will offer an insight to project management processes as well as working alongside some of Hounslow Council's other ground breaking projects, including our Radical Overhaul of Consultation and Engagement programme. The role will require a lot of juggling of different engagement sessions and it will be particularly busy in Summer 2024.
