Job description

We are looking for a production professional, with experience of managing production schedules and digital content in the publishing and media sectors. You will play a lead role in ensuring the effective delivery of a high-quality, optional curriculum to all schools in the UK.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Oak, and our curriculum partners, to lead the successful production of our curriculum resources. Working closely with colleagues responsible for the education content creation, you will:

  • oversee production scheduling and ensure work is managed effectively through the production pipeline, resolving challenges in order to meet project deadlines.
  • You will use your strong analytical skills to model our production approach and workflows, and develop and manage associated budgets.
  • Procure and manage resources and suppliers to support the production process You will be responsible for resource management, including procuring and managing relevant suppliers in the production process, such as illustrators, captioning and signing services.
  • Oversee our rights and permissions function to ensure appropriate copyright and clearances for all third-party content

You will play a key role in the Education Leadership Team, working collaboratively to ensure production processes align with content creation. You will also manage and develop a small, high-performing production team with specialisms in project management, rights and permissions, content management, and quality assurance.

You will need:

  • Experience in recruiting, developing and managing a high-performing team
  • Experience managing a significant budget
  • Proven success in driving excellent production and delivery practices including leading continuous improvements in quality, cost reduction, production time and pipeline capacity
  • Experience in managing production schedules, working with stakeholders to ensure that resources are ready for publication on time and within budget
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships, ensuring good communication, overseeing and reviewing the quality of work, and facilitating issue resolution

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE ROLE EARLY

The role is full-time (36 hours) and we work a 4.5 day week or 9 day fortnight (alternate Fridays or half Fridays off). This is a predominantly remote role with occasional in-person events and activities.

We offer flexible working where you can base yourself at home or in an office; whichever works best for you. We believe in continually getting better as an organisation and as individuals and so there are plenty of opportunities for growth and a generous Learning and Development policy. Our team is supported with generous maternity, paternity and adoption leave so that their families get a fantastic start.

If Oak sounds like somewhere you could do your life’s best work then we would love to hear from you. We use Applied platform to support diversity in our recruitment.

Oak is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. We particularly encourage applications from Black and minority ethnic candidates who are currently under-represented.

We are here to improve pupil outcomes and close the disadvantage gap by supporting teachers to teach, and pupils to access a high-quality curriculum.

We achieve this through building and developing our brilliant team who then collaborate with experts from across different sectors to produce the Oak platform.
