We are recruiting a Programme Manager (maternity cover, Temporary Cover) to be appointed to start as soon as possible. This is a fixed term maternity cover role for 12 months or until the return of the postholder, whichever is earlier. The Programme Manager is responsible for the management and operation of C2D3, the delivery of strategic direction of the Centre, and management of complex international projects. The Programme Manager is the key contact for internal communities and serves as a gateway to the University for external communities. Developing and managing relationships with stakeholders within and outside the University is an important aspect of the role, as is taking an active role in communicating and promoting the activities of the Centre. The role requires experience and strong skills in all aspects of programme management and project management, preferably with experience in academic or research institute settings. The role must navigate complex processes in order to deliver projects from initiation to closure, motivating and inspiring the project team to meet the deliverables, and supporting contract negotiations between the funder and University. Projects may be funded by fast paced and dynamic sources. The role supports the Director and management team of the C2D3 Computational Biology group, a sub-group of C2D3, and sits on the Advisory Board. The role supports the University's partnership with The Alan Turing Institute, by providing administrative advice and data science and AI guidance to the Research Office. Based in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, the role holder will report to the Co-Chairs of C2D3, Prof. Colm-cille Caulfield (Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics) and Prof. Zoe Kourtzi (Department of Psychology). Day-to-day work is likely to involve meetings and events in multiple University locations, including online, working closely with the C2D3 Communications and Events Coordinator and the Research and Engagement Coordinator. Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
