Programme Manager - Infrastructure Programme

On behalf of the Head of Infrastructure Programme, this role ensures the pipeline of investments within the Infrastructure Programme meets business priorities and needs. You will work with internal sponsors, and other key stakeholders to formally accept their requirements into the programme, the estate strategy and the estate development plan. You will be responsible for management of the overall programme control reporting on delivery performance to ensure the programme financial profile is appropriately integrated and delivered across all scope of the programme.
 

You will ensure programme commitments are delivered to time, cost, quality, safety and security requirements. You will liaises with the other Programme Managers and the respective Heads of Delivery to implement effective performance reporting. Maintains programme level view of investment benefits realisation, risk profile and retirements. In conjunction with stakeholders and the CP team ensure appropriate sanctioning and scrutiny of investments.

What you will be doing
You will identify and acquire the means to capture and achieve programme requirements. Lead integration across delivery programmes and organisational boundaries to enable deconfliction of programme demands and requirements.  

  • Monitor, control and report overall programme performance. Working with peers and stakeholders to address deviations from plan in line with company standard processes.
  • Influencing and management of key programme stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Identification, development and implementation of entirely new processes/tools where appropriate.        
  • Management of formal commit/accept process.  
  • In conjunction with the Head of Programme contribute to the planning and prioritisation of work within the programme.        
  • Promotion of the general culture and professionalism of project management throughout the Business. 
  • Team leadership responsibilities, including the planning and prioritisation of team members work

  • Familiar with formalised programme delivery techniques.      
  • Essential - The ability to facilitate requirements capture, coordinate conflicting demands and engage stakeholders to obtain buy-in         
  • Essential - Recent experience of successful programme delivery     
  • Essential - Undertake stakeholder management and appropriate coordination of the above activities with business as usual and other estate infrastructure activities/projects      
  • Essential - Ability to work with peers and supply chain service providers to ensure required inputs and data are identified, to underpin financial forecasts.  
  • Essential - Provide high-quality and timely monthly governance information reporting on delivery performance.       
  • Essential - Ensure provision of information required to obtain formal sanction and approval for projects and packages of work.        
  • Desired - Familiarity with Rolls-Royce  standards, processes and procedures. 
  • Desired - Familiarity with the Rolls-Royce Nuclear sector and the Submarines Business, its working practices and operational requirements / constraints, including recent experience of requirements capture and coordination.              
  • A confident self-starter, able to prioritise conflicting demands.                
  • Good presentation skills, able to tailor the communication method to suit the audience.                
  • A logical thinker capable of deriving a coherent delivery plan from conflicting requirements.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
