Job description

Our mission

All new medicines need to undergo clinical trials to show they’re safe and effective. But today’s clinical trial infrastructure is stuck in the past, and the cost of developing new medicines has skyrocketed as a result. Patients have to wait longer and pay more for new treatments.

Our mission is to fix this; we use software to help innovative companies run faster, more reliable, and patient-friendly clinical trials. We’re still a young company, but we’ve already had a big impact. Since founding the company in March 2021 we’ve helped run over 80 clinical trials involving tens of thousands of patients, with a customer NPS of 100.

We recently raised a $18m Series A round from some great investors including Creandum, Peter Thiel and Firstminute to power the next stage of our growth.

About the role

We’re looking for an exceptional Programme Manager to take a senior role within our Clinical Operations team, responsible for driving coherence and operational efficiency as well as transformation projects. We are on a mission to improve human health by revolutionising clinical trials and this role is at the heart of how we deliver on that mission.

This role would suit someone who has experience of programme or project management in a fast-growing organisation. It will suit someone with strong proactivity, organisation, project management and communication skills.

You’ll work closely with our Global Head of Clinical Operations (Emma Ogburn) as well as the Founders and other functional leaders, such as our Technology and Product teams. Think of this as a “Chief of Staff” to the Global Head of Clinical Operations.

About you

We’d like to hear from you if…

  • You have experience of programme or project management (or similar role) in a fast-growing start-up or scale-up - alternatively this role might suit someone from a top-tier consulting firm
  • You have experience working across multiple teams and stakeholders within a fast-growing company
  • You bring strong organisational skills, including using excel, powerpoint or project management software
  • You are keen to take on a wide range of different responsibilities and excited by a role that will change over time
  • You have high agency and a bias for action
  • You are passionate and curious about our mission; changing how the healthcare industry operates and how new health treatments are developed

You belong here! If your experience and interests match with some of the above, we want you to apply.

What you’ll focus on

  • Focus area 1: “Chief of Staff” to the Global Head (VP) of Clinical Operations
    • Support Clinical Operations leadership with wide range of responsibilities, this will vary and evolve over time but will include:
      • Ensuring the smooth functioning of internal communications and update
      • Putting in place a framework for project management of ongoing trials
      • Acting as an interface with other functional leaders to ensure that everyone is working as one team
  • Focus area 2: Transformation projects
    • We are constantly looking to improve how we operate, and you will lead projects to drive change across Clinical Operations and the wider company. Examples might include:
      • Helping to build a “Clinical Operations University” to train the next generation of Trial Managers to lead our clinical trials
      • Working with our Product team to develop the next iteration of “Citrus”, our software for running clinical trials
  • Focus area 3: Programme management
    • Running weekly meetings for the global Clinical Operations team
    • Tracking and ensuring follow-up of action items
    • Support forecasting of resources and cost
    • Coordinate kick-off meetings from Business Development into Clinical Operations and Product

What we offer

  • Make an impact across all areas of our business and fix one of the world’s most broken industries
  • Competitive salary, plus meaningful stock options
  • Flexible working; we have an incredible office near London Bridge and encourage people to work 3 days per week from the office.
  • Unlimited holidays; everyone is encouraged to take off at least 28 days each year
  • Health & wellbeing - cashback scheme with Medicash (unlimited virtual GP appointments, medical, dental, optician, physio, mental health + more!)
  • Gympass membership; flexible access to gyms, studios, classes and wellness apps
  • Enhanced Parental Leave - 12 weeks full pay for primary care giver & 4 weeks full pay for secondary care giver
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Regular team events; recently we've been to Legoland, a Bake Off competition, and a Millwall FC home game (decided by popular vote)
  • Up to £1,000 per year towards courses, certifications and development
  • A new laptop as your main workstation and up to £500 towards setting up your home office

Our hiring process

  • Initial conversation with our Director of Talent, George (30 minutes)
  • Second meeting with our Global Head of Clinical Operations, Emma (30 minutes)
  • Functional exercise, a take-home exercise to understand how you'd approach specific challenges in the role.
  • Functional interview with Emma, Director of People & Operations, Gaby, and co-Founder, Michael (45 minutes)
  • Culture and values interview in-office with 2 founding team members (30 minutes)
  • Referencing

We try to arrange for at-least one interview to be in-person so you can see our office and meet more of the team.
