The 5 Councils Partnership
Seven years ago, South and Vale Councils entered into a complex partnership with a number of other councils in the South of England, outsourcing a range of services to a commercial provider. As this contract comes near to its end, we need to carefully manage the exit programme across all the disciplines in a way which will enable us to provide continuity of service to our residents.
This role requires an expert Programme Manager who has well developed partnership skills and can work across a number of disciplines to bring the exit programme together. You will be working with subject matter experts, counterparts from other councils and our commercial partners to help deliver a complex programme.
Are you looking for an exciting and varied role where you will help ensure the smooth transition of key council services to provide best value for the residents of South and Vale Councils? Where you will be working with a small and dynamic team right in the heart of decision making and collaboration? Where you are supported in developing your experience and knowledge to further your career?
Are you an experienced Programme Manager who loves to create structure and governance to ensure that work can be delivered in a timely and planned manner? Are you energetic and determined with a positive attitude. Do you have strong partnership working and enabling skills? Are you able to interact and communicate with others effectively, understanding of different perspectives/ priorities? Do you have a successful track record of programme management and governance? Are you able to communicate project management concepts in a straightforward way? Can you identify and then provide solutions to problems? Are you aware of your own strengths and weaknesses and committed to addressing areas for development?
If you answered yes to the questions above, then you should apply for this opportunity to work for South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils where you will be:
- Leading on the key contract exit projects, in conjunction with the subject matter experts, from inception, through early-life support to handover into business as usual operation
- Using a range of programme/project management tools such as Gantt charts, RAID logs, exception reporting and scoping documents, whilst not unnecessarily over complicating the process
- Enabling the senior responsible officer and programme board to make good exit decisions due to your timely and up to date provision of key information
