Summary Internal Applications Only Please We're looking for an experienced Programme Officer to support our Fundraising Growth Programme. This exciting new three-year programme is currently being designed as we get ready for implementation. You'll support the Programme Manager and you will be responsible for ensuring we have excellent systems in place to provide great programme management. The National Trust has always had a need to fundraise, this programme is being established to enable the scaling up of fundraising?and to ensure we are set up?to?realise the opportunities of the future. Working with a Programme Team including Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) you will be responsible for:

  • ensuring the programme follows the right systems and has the right processes in place
  • storing, tracking and compiling programme status information
  • communicating the work we do in partnership with our communications SMEs
  • how we meet our ambitions on sharing learning
  • setting up and managing the ways we track results to measure benefits
  • the delivery of some of the small/medium project work within the programme
We are currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2024.What it's like to work here Based at our Heelis office in Swindon, you'll work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with people and partners who are central to our fundraising approaches today. You'll work to a hybrid (part office based and part working from home) location pattern. You'll create the best pattern of location working for you and your matrix managed programme team. Your high-profile work will be integrated into our National Trust Support & Revenue Directorate which provides national support to the National Trust's GBP605.8m per annum membership, fundraising, and commercial activities. There is an urgent need for greater?fundraising income to help deliver the?Trust's ambitions as part of the next?Strategy period, due to commence in?2025. We know that?fundraising will have a major role to play,?having been identified as the?'second?engine of growth' for the Trust, with the?biggest opportunity for headroom?compared to other traditional NT income?streams.?You will?be working at pace through 2024?to support getting this new programme up and?running. All in service of helping the Trust to deliver its charitable purpose and its strategic aims. You will also be a member of our project and programme management community in the National Trust, and we are looking for an active and enthusiastic contributor in this space. What you'll be doing You'll support our dedicated Programme team (supporting the recruitment into it as required) selecting both external delivery partners and bringing in internal subject matter experts. You'll liaise with the many parts of the National Trust and actively engage with internal stakeholders to support the development of effective pilots with our regional teams.? You'll use your knowledge to ensure the programme has good systems in place that are fit for purpose, developing these where required. You'll be supporting the design and management of the implementation phase (running to March 2027). You'll be tracking and reporting on progress from the delivery teams. You'll be supporting the tracking and resolution of escalated issues and change requests with the programme. You'll be reporting on risks and the spend forecasts. You'll be working with others to ensure our learnings are captured and shared. You'll be responsible for setting up and managing the ways the programme tracks results to measure the benefits we'll deliver. You'll be responsible for document storage and version control. You'll be working with SMEs and stakeholders to support the development of the procurement strategy, stakeholder engagement and communications plans and the implementation plan. You'll be comfortable working in detail to support the delivery teams. A key aspect of this programme is engaging and building relationships with our stakeholders, and you must be really comfortable working in a matrix environment deploying your influencing skills.   • experience of successfully supporting the delivery of projects and/or programmes to scope, time and quality, including the financial management of their budgets. Knowledge of the challenges associated with constantly changing horizons.
  • experience in developing tools, systems and processes to enable the delivery and tracking of complex activity, having worked with external agencies, contractors or other organisations.
  • the ability to co-ordinate various workstreams and manage inter-dependencies, applying your knowledge pf programme and project management principles and practice.
  • proven excellent people and influencing skills, enabling strong relationships externally and internally, to be built and maintained.
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills including the delivery of presentations to groups. You'll have knowledge to influence and negotiate at all levels
  • a recognised project (ChPP /APM PMQ) or programme management (MSP Foundation) qualification.
You don't have to be an expert in fundraising, but you'll need the ability to facilitate the very best from our programme client and our team of SMEs we have. You'll need the drive to bring tasks to conclusion supporting the programme board in their decision making. The package
