Job description

Are you a creative person who loves working with children, families and young people, connecting communities, people and places? Our Programming and Partnerships Officer plays an important role in developing relationships and partnerships, responding to young people’s needs, creating opportunities for skills development and ensuring everyone feels welcome, whether at Seaton Delaval Hall or in the wider community.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £23868

Contract: Permanent

Interviews: Wednesday 17 April

If you have any questions about this role please contact: Siobhan.Falkous@nationaltrust.org.uk

This Northumbrian country house and grounds is one of the National Trust’s more recent acquisitions. Seaton Delaval Hall has recently undergone a major transformation; with £7.8 million invested in conservation and developing the visitor experience, including the Brewhouse Café, Delaval Playdium play area, collections rehang and creative interpretation. A place of theatre, imagination and fun that brings together a spirit of adventurous programming and events, alongside the drama of the place, that keeps visitors coming back again and again. Seaton Delaval Hall continues to go from strength to strength having welcomed over 145,000 visitors in the last year, for the first time.

As part of a team, you’ll be devising and running a programme of events and activities with partnership and co-creation at their heart.

Seaton Delaval Hall is a ‘Children and Young Peoples’ hub for the National Trust, and you will focus on the delivery and reporting of the ‘CYP’ programme.

Continuing to find ways to centre youth voice, you will build on our programme for families, schools and young people (11-25). You will prioritise those most in need and collaborate with young people through mutually beneficial live briefs, volunteering, work experience and skills development opportunities. Ensuring high quality and accessible school engagement, supporting seasonal programming, and collaborating with partners to increase opportunities for young people whilst prioritising those facing barriers and improving accessibility.

As well as planning and organising a programme of events, visits and placements, you’ll be linking these activities to the hall and the priorities of the National Trust, ensuring they’re both relevant and appealing to visitors.

You'll be responsible for some budgets and will be supervising volunteers.

We'd love to hear from you if you’re:

  • experienced in running events and activities, and/or working with community partners
  • familiar with audiences in the areas of heritage, culture, arts and the natural environment
  • used to running small partner-led projects within the heritage and arts sectors
  • able to measure and assess results, and show their impact
  • good at talking and listening to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
  • someone who puts people first, and understands what’s needed for everyone to receive great customer service
  • flexible and happy to work with different teams and partners, and to go wherever you’re needed to balance the workload of your team
