Overall Purpose of the Job
The Project Administrator role provides comprehensive and proactive operational support across the project. This is a dynamic and demanding role and will involve considerable flexibility and the ability to prioritise tasks to deliver support for all investigators within the Project. The post holder’s role will be to ensure effective and professional liaison and communication with academic, administrative, and external customers, to facilitate the smooth running of Project by following and implementing processes and managing issues arising.

The University of Manchester has a partnership with the UKAEA to help accelerate the country’s progress toward Net Zero Carbon targets through the development of fusion energy. The University of Manchester is therefore making significant investments to support the research and development of sustainable energy produced by fusion.
This project is funded by the Fusion Industry Programme to encourage the development of UK industrial fusion capacity and prepare the UK fusion industry for the future global fusion power plant market. It is a collaborative project involving the department of Chemical Engineering and the Dalton Nuclear Institute at the University of Manchester, as well as partners at other universities and industry.
