The Company:

Green Cat Hydrogen Limited (GCH) is a dynamic and innovative green hydrogen project developer. GCH focus on the deployment of electrolytic hydrogen projects as a key part of the global energy transition and de-carbonisation strategy. The business works closely with sister companies through the planning, permitting/licensing, engineering and design and construction of green hydrogen projects.

GCH require a Project & Contract Manager to support our growing team and portfolio of electrolytic hydrogen development as they move through FEED, project financing and deployment. As a small team we offer a dynamic work environment with broad exposure across the business.

The Role:

  • Develop green hydrogen projects with an initial focus on progressing through FEED to final investment decision.
  • Overall ownership and accountability for project progress and budgets against timelines and targets.
  • Discussion, preparation, review, and negotiation of the terms of business contracts.
  • Management, detailed tracking, and communication of project progress with internal and external stakeholders from a task, time, schedule, and cost perspective.
  • Accountable for managing project resourcing utilising an internal and external multi-discipline team.
  • Ensuring financial and technical targets are met in delivering projects.
  • Effective management of, and reporting on, project risks and opportunities.
  • Pro-active management of internal and external project stakeholders, and co-ordination between disciplines, including planning/regulatory; engineering, electrical, process, safety; legal and commercial.
  • Preparation of documentation and management of design, construction, and operation procurement processes.
  • Management and supervision of contractors carrying out services and construction on projects.
  • Update the project team/disciplines on scope, status, changes of the Project andschedule/expectations and ensure effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Manage changes in project scopes, identifies solutions for potential issues and derive contingency plans as required, while engaging the appropriate resources.
  • Ability to administer design, construction, and operation contracts in accordance with standard form and bespoke agreements.
  • Internal communication with project team and ensuring all corporate policies and quality management systems are fully adhered to.
  • Contribute to Project and energy optimisation including the design or sourcing of renewable energy, GHG quantification and development of project business case(s).


The candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, business, or economics.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in project or portfolio management.
  • Be able to evidence the management of, and accountability for, the delivery of complex projects involving a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Have strong communications skills, the ability to be persuasive and the desire to work collaboratively.
  • Possess excellent soft skills and leadership qualities.
  • Have the right to work in the United Kingdom, full-time, in perpetuity.


The candidate would benefit from:

  • Formal project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, APM), or an understanding of associated project management principles (PMBOK, PRINCE2, or APM Body of Knowledge).
  • Experience in the energy and/or renewables markets.
  • Past exposure to procurement exercises and negotiation including identification of and negotiation with major equipment providers, service providers, EPC and O&M contractors.
  • Experience delivering multi-discipline projects with CAPEX of =>£10m.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Awareness and experience of industry standard contracts and administration thereof.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit.
