Part-time contract – 14 hours per week Fixed term: from February 2024 to 31st March 2025 We are looking for a Project Coordinator to plan, organise and run the activities of the Diversifying the Talent Pipeline Flexible Funding Award. The opportunity: The E4 DTP and SENSE CDT have been awarded funding from NERC to organise a number of outreach activities with the objective of inspiring and encouraging young talent from under-represented backgrounds in Environmental Sciences. Three main activities have been designed to achieve this objective: a mentoring scheme with secondary school (S4-6) students and PhD students, some primary school children’s and secondary school (S1-2) pupils’ visits to the university for some Environmental Science Days and some PhD-student-led science activities run at primary and secondary schools. The fixed-term part-time Project Coordinator will be responsible for independently planning, organising and ensuring the successful and smooth running of the proposed activities, as well as leading on the final reporting. Your skills and attributes for success: Excellent planning and project management skills with proven ability to deliver to timescales. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences (and in particular with students of all levels). Well-developed sense of initiative, independent work and pro-activity in progressing actions and solving problems, with a positive and can-do attitude. A keen interest and enthusiasm for Widening Participation and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion topics in Education. Experience of the Education or Higher Education sectors and sensitivity and enthusiasm to promote studies in Environment Sciences.
