SUMMARY


DCWright Global has been engaged by an international renewable energy developer focused on utility-scale projects throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas.


Our client is seeking an experienced (3+ years) renewable energy development professional to join its UK-based team and take on responsibility for managing the company’s utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects from prospect through to delivery.


This professional will work closely with various internal stakeholders, as well as landowners, the community, and various authorities, to ensure the smooth and timely portfolio development.

The position is based in Edinburgh on a hybrid (office + travel + remote) basis.


Responsibilities


Project Identification and Assessment:


  • Lead the identification and assessment of utility-scale solar and energy storage project opportunities in the UK.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and due diligence processes.


Project Planning and Execution:


  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of Project Development activities, from conception to financial close.


Stakeholder Engagement:


  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, landowners, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure smooth project progression.


Regulatory Compliance:


  • Stay informed about relevant regulations, permitting processes, and industry standards.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory requirements and environmental standards.


Financial Analysis:


  • Conduct financial modeling and analysis for project feasibility and investment decision-making.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to secure project financing and optimize financial structures.


Team Leadership:


  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing clear direction and support for successful Project Development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.


Reporting and Documentation:


  • Prepare and present regular project updates, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of Project Development activities.


Community Outreach:


· Engage in community outreach programs to address concerns, build support, and ensure positive relationships with local communities.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Renewable Energy, Engineering, Business Management).
  • At least three years’ experience developing utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Experience developing energy storage projects is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in project management, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar and energy storage technologies, Project Development processes, and the UK renewable energy landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
