Working as a Project Director in the Infrastructure team for this Rail framework, you'll be responsible for delivery of projects between Birmingham and Manchester and will bring together a project team with a diverse mix of roles and responsibilities, managing efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
You'll:
  • Set a positive example of the company, through "Values and Behaviours" and a ct as a role model to the team to ensure these "Values and Behaviours" are embedded throughout the project.
  • Drive the successful delivery of projects in accordance with the Company's Procedures, Management Systems and Performance Targets.
  • Create and build suitably experienced project teams for the benefit of the Company and the project.
  • Support the Directors and the Board to build the business in accordance with the "Strategy Plan".
  • Lead the development of client, customer, stakeholder and supply chain relationships.
  • Have overall responsibility for delivery of projects to contractual arrangements and the financial outcome agreed.
  • Establish the Project Execution Plan and set up the project organisation for its implementation.
  • Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to Project Managers, responsible for large scale multi-disciplinary teams developing high quality solutions on time and on budget.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders, including client Project Directors (or equivalent) to resolve issues early and safeguard our interests.
  • Agree commercial strategies and assist with the delivery of business targets.
  • Develop potential future work opportunities through relationships with clients, suppliers and members of the construction community.
  • Implement an improvement process on the project to identify best practice, implement improvements and gather and feedback knowledge and inform the team how knowledge may be accessed.
  • Promote the culture of inclusion and support for all stakeholders, internal and external, to the scheme, programme or alliance.
We're looking for:
  • Proven collaborative leadership skills, including project delivery on large infrastructure projects, work winning and business leadership; both inward and outward focused.
  • Experience of building and leading large, diverse teams - inspiring the pursuit of excellence and delivering outperformance against defined success measures.
  • Experience of strategic thinking and contributing to the development and implementation of a strategy that delivers against a compelling vision or outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills in a 360-degree sphere. Experience of developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships based on value-driven approach.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining excellent relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of commercial and contractual conditions and project management.
  • Programme management experience at a senior level with evidence of managing and delivering multi-disciplinary Infrastructure Projects.
  • Project or programme management of large infrastructure framework in the Infrastructure Sector, exhibiting leadership capabilities to lead large diverse teams.
  • Significant experience in dealing with infrastructure and public sector clients
  • Extensive and successful experience of leading a framework, collaborating with 3 rd party partners and negotiating individual work orders with customers to meet the business and customer needs.
