We employ only the best people to deliver the very best solutions, customer service and support.Because we are experiencing high growth, we need an experienced, talented and customer- focussed process controls professional for the role of Project Engineer (Controls).Role OverviewWe need an additional Project Engineer (Controls) to deliver a range of projects to our clients in a high quality and timely manner. It’s a varied role, which will give you the opportunity to work on a wide portfolio of different clients and projects.The work includes design, testing and modification of process control systems, including writing functional design specifications, designing, writing and modifying PLC and HMI code and controls software, authoring and preparing documentation, and performing on-site training, start-up support and commissioning.Please note this is a UK-based role, but an essential part of the job is travelling to customer sites both in the UK and overseas.We provide a flexible, hybrid working environment. However, you'll need to attend our head offices regularly so will need to be within reasonable commuting distance of Nottingham, UK.You will also be fully eligible to work in the UK on a full-time, permanent basis. Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of the team, as well as on your own and directly with customers, your key responsibilities will include:Supporting project managers with commissioning and delivery of HPS projects.Preparing quality documentation (flow sheets, functional design specifications, electrical wiring diagrams, etc.)Writing, testing, and fault finding within controls software.Ensuring that client deadlines are met on-time and to a high standard.Adhering to the HPS project delivery process, which is designed to ensure a great customer experience.Pro-actively, clearly and effectively communicating with customers.Travelling to our clients’ sites, commissioning of our solutions and training client staff in their use.Consistently satisfying and exceeding customer expectations, upholding our brand values while maintaining and building our excellent reputation.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceWhile we’ll give you full training on our products, services and processes, we’ll expect you to have:A relevant engineering-based degree for example, mechanical, electrical, control and automation.A minimum of 3-years’ experience within a control systems engineering environment.Proficiency in designing, writing and modifying PLC and HMI code on various systems (such as Allen- Bradley, Siemens, Modicon and similar).Experience of dealing directly with customers and providing excellent customer service.Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to interact and engage clearly and confidently at all levels of a business.Good IT knowledge, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Along with your experience, you'll be:Competent in AutoCAD, DraftSight or similar design software.Able to demonstrate strong customer-focus, ability to use initiative and solve problems, and delivering results.Able to work independently and take ownership of your tasks - efficiently and effectively prioritising and organising your workload.Plus, you’ll enjoy working collaboratively within a team environment as well as working on your own.
