Main purpose:
Responsible and accountable for managing & coordinating change activities spanning both New Project and Current Production environments, working with internal Wipac teams, customers and suppliers to ensure Engineering Changes are planned, managed and implemented effectively, delivering against quality, cost and timing KPI’s.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all Project Management aspects relating to the successful delivery of Engineering Changes in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and using best practice project management techniques.
Owning and driving progress by working with all departments within Wipac, including scheduling and chairing Project / Engineering Change meetings on a weekly basis.
Tracking actions for all Engineering Changes via Open Points Lists.
Tracking and reporting progress for all open Engineering Changes (both New Project and Current Production) including against KPI’s via an Engineering Change Dashboard to ensure good visibility of overall status and risks / issues
Identifying, reporting and escalating risks and roadblocks in line with approved business processes.
Reporting overall status to the Senior Leadership Team at Monthly Project Reviews.
Managing Engineering Change budgets for all Current Production changes by maintaining accurate, up to date Project Budget Worksheets.
Manage Engineering Change timing and maintain an accurate, up to date timing plans for all Current Production Engineering Changes, with a critical focus on managing implementation dates, ensuring all activities are completed on time and obsolescence is managed to agreed budgets.
Being the customer point of contact, responding to all forms of contact in a timely, professional manner and attending, scheduling and/or leading customer reviews / meetings as required.
Working with suppliers (with the support of the purchasing team) as required
Managing any pre-production builds and testing / validation activities as required.
Provide support to Project Managers / Engineers to ensure Engineering Changes within current live projects are managed effectively and in line with company process.
When required, support the Head of Programme Management with development of Project Management and Engineering Change Management tools and processes.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience working within an automotive Company ideally a 1st Tier Supplier.
Educated to degree or equivalent level in a technically based subject.
Relevant Project management experience, ideally with some qualification e.g. PRINCE 2
Good commercial awareness
Excellent presentation skills.
