the opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to have the chance of working with a well-established engineering consultancy that specialises in the development of major projects across the UK and world, driven by a workforce of ambitious nuclear experts. In your role as Project Engineer you will be responsible for leading and managing nuclear projects from the conception stage to completion.
your duties and responsibilities will be
- As a Project Engineer, you will support the Sizewell C Contractor and programme Subject Matter Experts on initiating and monitoring the technical delivery expected from the Responsible Designer in line with Sizewell C requirements.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams on pre and post Financial Close aspects of the Contract, contractual appendices, technical specifications, and the procurement process.
- Compile and report financial and technical information, liaise with internal and external interfaces to capture and report on requests impacting the overall budget baseline and delivery.
- Design processes / procedures to ensure alignment of contractual practices across Sizewell C and use electronic platforms where available, all with a continuous improvement lens.
- Capture and report the technical status of deliverables, escalating anomalies where appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong links with the project managers and engineers responsible for delivering equivalent scope at Hinkley Point C to ensure replication and best practice.
you will have the following qualifications & experience
- Involvement in coordinating multi-disciplinary design/procurement work and driving design/procurement teams to deliver on time.
- Project management or Project Engineering experience.
- Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
- Good understanding of the complexity of major projects, including interface management between scope areas.
- Excellent communication skills in client-facing and contractor-facing situations.
- General professional qualities such as accuracy, tenacity, result-oriented and teamwork-oriented attitude, diplomacy.
