Your responsibilities
The CERN IT Department is in charge of the coordination of the Next Generation Trigger project (NextGen), a collaboration across several CERN Departments and LHC experiments to investigate new technologies for future data acquisition systems. The project is overseen by a Project Coordinator and a Project Management Office in the IT Department.
The project is looking for a young graduate for the position of Project Management Assistant. The successful candidate will work with the NextGen Project Coordinator and the IT Department Resource Management Group to:
- Schedule and organise meetings.
- Collect, classify and publish project deliverables.
- Assist with producing Project Management reports.
- Assist with maintaining project schedules, effort and budget plans.
- Liasing with supporting services in the HR and Finance Departments.
Your profile
Skills and/or knowledge
- You have a degree in Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or other related fields.
- You have completed one or more internships as administrative assistant, project assistant, or similar roles.
- You have working familiarity with office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint or equivalent tools.
- You have organization skills and like to work in a structured way, but are resilient in situations requiring short deadlines and fast reactions.
- You communicate well in English in a situation-appropriate manner. The ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Business Administration and Management (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
