You will attract a salary of £71,914.00 and a bonus of 3%

Job Purpose:
The role of the Project Manager is to project provide construction assurance on a portfolio of, or individual projects, from beginning to completion.
You will agree and implement the project delivery strategy.
You will forecast resource and material requirements, monitor project costs and delivery, manage contractor performance and provide regular reports.
The Project Manager will collaborate with Design, Infrastructure Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Network Operations and Asset Management to ensure all aspects of the project are communicated.
Nature and Scope:
The Project Manager will lead a matrix structured diverse, multi-contract project team, and provide the necessary direction, targets and project milestones to ensure effective use of resources.
The Project Manager will ensure that main functions of the overall project delivery are in place. These include scopes of work, procurement processes, capital approval, resource planning (materials and people), project delivery, reporting and review.
Principal Accountabilities:
Finish projects / portfolio of projects from beginning to completion to time, quality and cost maintaining the highest levels of safety and environmental management.
Ensure construction assurance through audits on quality of work, technical competencies, adherence to specifications, compliance with testing and commissioning procedures and safety and environmental procedures. Ensure that the required project completion data is completed and submitted for processing (Netmap, Ellipse, Project wise)
Produce delivery plans and ensure provision of direct / contract resources, materials and services to ensure that project programmes are maintained
Work with PMO to ensure P6 programmes are up to date to allow monthly reports to be produced, including achievement, costs and forecasts
Communicate with important partners such as Infrastructure Planning, Design, Supply Chain, Network Operations, Procurement and Asset Management to ensure that projects are managed from launch to completion
Ensure that all work is carried out to provide very high levels of Customer Service e.g. minimise Customer Interruptions & Customer Minutes Lost, network risk, and customer complaints
Ensure that all workers engaged on the projects / portfolio of projects are aware of all safety and environmental requirements
Develop the Project Execution Plan and present project approval papers for Portfolio Board.
Engage with Asset Management and Alliance PDD team pre Gate B approval to ensure correct scope and budget are mandated observing the Alliance Governance & Delivery process.
Follow the Alliance Governance & Delivery process for subsequent Gate C and Gate D submissions.
Assist Commercial team in the production of any CGM related submissions.
Assist Lead Designer in matters relating to acceptance of the contractor's design
Assist Commercial team in the preparation of PSC/WPO documentation in readiness for issuing
Assist Commercial team in identifying any PSC/WPO errors in already issued documents
Produce Project Execution Plans and Activity Information Packs
Assist Commercial team/Sub Programme Manager in reviewing an Alliance Delivery Proposal in readiness for acceptance
Production and up keep of P6 Risk Register and provide information to the Risk Advisory Board
Provide or delegate consent activity in liaison with UKPN Property & Consents team
Identify 'free issue' materials and arrange as required through UKPN Supply Chain
Arrange access to undertake the works, including both landowner access (via P&C) and Outages via Network Control
Ensure projects are notified and comply with CDM requirements and that they are delivered safely
Production of a weekly safety report
Undertake site safety inspections and record the inspections on UKPN's AIRline system.
Complete projects in compliance with UKPN's 'Project Control Handbook'.
General Project Manager Actions and Reporting Requirements:-
Ensure Purchase Orders are monitored and timely Goods Receipts undertaken each month before SAP1 close date.
Update the Finance Accruals list by the Finance cut-off date each month.
Ensure P6 programmes are updated for forecast costs by the Finance cut-off date each month.
Ensure P6 programmes are updated for actual costs to date and also posted accrued costs.
Produce the monthly variance report at SAP2 close date each month and identify any further accruals required.
Ensure project costs/forecast costs align with the associated NAMP provision on a minimum quarterly basis and initiate any NAMP Change Requests.
Check and validate monthly Contractor KPI submissions.
Project programme reviews with P6 Planner.
Review P6 risk registers, issues logs and project commentary to align with PMO reporting timetable
Qualifications;
A formal qualification from a recognised Project Management or construction professional body equivalent to APM PMQ or higher or A HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with experience of managing the development and construction of electrical distribution projects is the preferred requirement, however, applications from candidates with a lesser qualification and a record of accomplishment in either project management or electrical distribution infrastructures (design or construction) would be welcomed.
Commercial awareness
Experience with construction management best practice
A safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely will be advantageous as will experience of working with the CDM 2015 regulations and ISO9001 quality processes
Experience of Primavera P6, online project collaboration tools, Microsoft Project, the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word and Access) and project management techniques
Knowledge of the EHV distribution network and Distribution Safety Rules would be desirable.
