About Us: Hunter mason are representing a leading provider of utility services, specializing in the safe installation, testing, and commissioning of Gas, Water, and other services across the UK. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations/Project Manager to oversee and manage our field operations.
Role and Responsibilities: As the Multi Utility - Operations/Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful installation, testing, and commissioning of utility networks. This field-based position involves managing both direct employees and subcontractors. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting initial and ongoing site meetings, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
- Overseeing the safe construction of assets, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Project management of network construction, including material and plant control.
- Regular customer liaison, maintaining communication and holding site progress meetings.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Cost control and materials selection for project execution.
- Handling site variations and ensuring proper documentation.
- Conducting annual appraisals and competency interviews with operatives.
- Managing health and safety matters for operatives and sites.
- Investigating and reporting health and safety incidents.
- Conducting site audits, team audits, and van audits.
- Auditing site preparation and assisting with emergencies.
- Closing out corrective actions to maintain operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management within the utilities sector.
- Familiarity with Gas, Water, and other utility network installations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and customer liaison skills.
- Ability to manage project costs and materials effectively.
- Located in or willing to relocate to the Midlands.
