We are seeking a Programme Management Support Officer to join our Transformation Team, focusing on children’s services. This role is instrumental in providing programme management support, ensuring the development and implementation of complex, high-value projects and initiatives. You will work under the direction of Project and Programme Managers and take on responsibilities for administrative and project support.
Day to day of the role:- Provide high-profile programme support to aid the Council's Children's Services and Social Care teams. A background in these areas is not required.
- Create and maintain project management documentation, such as project initiation documents, summaries, risk logs, change logs, and issue logs.
- Coordinate and develop project plans to track progress in conjunction with Project Leads and the Programme Manager.
- Support measures for project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, and report into performance management governance.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on-time and within scope.
- Liaise with key stakeholders (internal and external) to identify and define project requirements, ensure alignment of priorities, consistency of approach, and project development.
- Support communication and planning activities across stakeholder groups to ensure effective and impactful delivery of programmes, ensuring clear and effective communications on project objectives and progress.
- Proven experience in programme management support, ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
