This is a key role in delivering the National Trust's ambition to support Divis & the Black Mountain to become one of the most accessible urban upland green spaces in Northern Ireland.
As Project Officer you’ll support the delivery of a programme of projects and activities which will help us to meet our strategic ambition, most notably through the 'Divis – A View to the Future' project.

What you'll be doingReporting to the Project Manager, you’ll support the delivery of a programme of projects and activities covering areas such as peatland restoration, upland trail improvement, restoration of heritage buildings, land choices, and community engagement & participation.
As Project Officer, along with supporting on large projects, you’ll have the opportunity to take a leading role on small projects. You’ll take an active part in our project workstreams and have responsibilities including financial reporting, project administration, procurement of specialist consultants and contractors as well as supporting the roll out of our Community Activity Plan.
Your contractual location will be Rowallane Stable Yard, Saintfield, however, there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will also involve travel to properties or regional hubs to meet with stakeholders and deliver your role.
Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you have:
- strong project management and IT skills
- experience of working on projects with a good level of practical experience in running project activities including experience of stakeholder engagement, internal / external reporting, risk management administering project budgets and co-ordination of consultant teams
- experience of record keeping, running meetings and minute taking including experience of procurement while ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements
- knowledge and experience of Project Management Frameworks
- a project management qualification or be willing to work towards one such as the APM - Project Management Qualification
- ability to communicate confidently with individuals and groups
- ability to deliver through teams including volunteers, external contractors and colleagues outside your team
