Essential Responsibilities
As PPM, you will:
- You will work closely with Global commodity leader to help develop sourcing strategy for the assigned site/P&L in order to achieve variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals
- Help the global supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management, including managing the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit
- Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations to the general ledger
- Create and enforce business policies to meet business targets and customer needs, including improving procurement processes and optimizing Sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing
- Team with engineering teams to identify and implement direct material productivity ideas to minimize total cost
- Work closely with engineering, buyers and sourcing quality engineers to ensure fulfillment and quality requirements are achieved
- Team with logistics and commercial teams to ensure adequate regional capacities exist to minimize transportation costs and meet localization requirements
- Aligning closely with global commodity leaders to -dentify and assess supplier capabilities, and measure and manage supplier performance
- Negotiate lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services
- Interface with other GE business sourcing teams and participate in companywide strategic sourcing initiatives
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial experience in Sourcing, Sales, Commercial Operations, and/or Supply Chain
Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Engineering Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
- Prior sourcing experience in negotiating, identifying opportunities, selecting suppliers, sourcing strategy, and implementing contracts
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
- Strong project management and process improvement skills Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Process leadership experience such as CAP, Workout, process improvement, or quality
CPM or APICS certification - Oracle Purchasing system experience
- Six Sigma training or equivalent quality training
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Is responsible for all supply chain management activities within his/her project for all the equipment and spare parts in his/her scope. This results in the preparation & application of common approach such as, but not limited to defining and applying of the contract requirements for sourcing for his scope within the project (i.e. sourcing restrictions; financing restrictions etc.)
-Ensures a smooth hand-over of supply chain management related scope between bidding team and project execution team
- Work closely with SSM reviews and updates the purchasing strategy (i.e. top ten list, EPP) and the project specific sourcing concept (procurement concept)
- Secures that purchasing strategy is in line with commodity strategy and suppliers in EEP are target panel supplier with minimal deviations
- Verifies PCDB (Plant Cost Data Base), DOW (Division Of Work) and ensures consistency between sourcing concept and project documents (i.e. PCDB, DOW, MTS)
- Comments master time schedule (MTS) in regard to correct delivery and transportation times initially derived out of the tender time schedule (TTS) and signs it off when deemed acceptable for the process of procurement & logistics appreciating the project strategy
- Establishes the master procurement schedule (MPS)
- Knowing the commercial part of the EPC contract and issues the project related purchasing conditions (PRPC)
- Ensures that suppliers meet all contractual requirements in regard to customs and duties
- Ensures that supplier quality / expediting has established the supplier monitoring-concept (SUMO) - Updates vendor list and ensures client’s approval in close collaboration with project engineering manager (PEM) and the PD
- Coordinates on- and offshore procurement activities
- Controls timely issuance of the purchase orders within budget
- Helps Purchasing Manager (PM) in contract claim management
- Helps Purchasing Manager (PM) in invoices release, warranty and bonds management, as well as in the most prominent order negotiations (high value; critical contract set-up) when and if required - Performs weekly meetings with the participation of quality coordinator, lead engineer, scheduler etc. who interface with the function of supply chain management at the various stages and generates the weekly PO progress review minutes of meeting
- Consolidates experience feedback to the SSM
