37.5 hours per week - Various shifts between 8.30am to 6.30pm to include one weekend in four
We’re seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. The ideal candidate would have had experience within a similar role, working with people who have experienced homelessness.

At Thorpe Road, we provide support to people experiencing, or at risk of homelessness which is part of Norwich Homeless Supported Housing. It may be expected to cover at other schemes as well. There are six services spread across Norwich, including nine bedrooms and four flats at Aviary House, six bedrooms and five flats at College Road, nine bedrooms and two flats at Cromer Road, 11 bedrooms and two flats at Hope House, 11 bedrooms and two flats at Reepham Road and 13 bedrooms and one flat at Thorpe Road.

Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly open manner are essential for success in this role.

The role of Project Worker will include:
- Supporting our customers to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives
- Assisting with assessing clients’ needs by writing and updating client notes
- Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customer queries
- Developing good relationships with customers, helping them develop life skills
- Handling occasional emergency/challenging situations
- Going above and beyond to ensure an excellent service is provided to our customers
- Some health and safety responsibilities e.g. fire safety checks
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, people with mental health needs or substance misuse
- Experience in support planning, key working, risk assessment and safeguarding
- Experience working under challenging circumstances
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use IT systems confidently
