Publicity Manager

The publishing company are looking for a junior publicist to join permanently. You will plan, implement and manage ambitious, sales-driving publicity campaigns, ensuring the books receive widespread coverage across all platforms and driving sales.

Description

CAMPAIGNS

 Create and manage all aspects of a publicity campaign

 Assessing campaign effectiveness, measuring impact on sales where possible

 Initiating and maintaining relationships with journalists

 Communicating promotional activity externally and internally

 Providing acquisition feedback from a PR angle

 Writing acquisition announcements for trade press

 Leading/running focus meetings for individual titles

 Initiating and maintaining relationships with gatekeepers and industry contacts

RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNICATION

 Work closely with the marketing team to ensure campaigns are integrated and well representative of expectations for the book and the availability of the author and illustrator

 Create and manage strong relationships with colleagues across the list

 Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of publicity and events

Profile

A proven track record in handling publicity campaigns

• Excellent contact base across print, broadcast, podcast and online media
• Excellent understanding of the events space for children's books with good contacts at literary festivals, industry and gatekeeper events
• Ability to discern objectives and implement strategy to achieve those objectives
• Ability to work to deadline and within budget
• Ability to multi-task, work flexibly and identify priorities
• An innovator able to look for new ways to promote our books
• Excellent communication skills in person and in writing
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with people from any background
• Ability to mentor publicity assistants and press officers

Job Offer
