About the Job
We are looking for a Puppets Creative Lead to become a pivotal role in Aardman’s latest flagship Shaun the Sheep project.
As the Puppet Creative Lead you will head up the assessment and schedule of works for the refurbishment of existing assets to meet the requirements for the project. You will lead a team of puppet makers by producing schedules and setting realistic tasks and deadlines for team members including supervising, planning, and varying their workload where schedule allows for diversity.
Part of this role will include being responsible for regularly checking the schedule boards to find out when puppets & specials need to be delivered. You will have overall responsibility for translating the character design of new characters (if any) into a successful stop motion puppet and working with the director, animators & puppet team to achieve the desired look & performance for new puppets (if any).
We are looking for someone with at least 10 years relevant professional experience required in building stop motion puppets, ideally on previous long form projects. You will also be very knowledgeable about all aspects of the design and build of an animation puppet.
You will be able to co-ordinate a team to deliver work of a high standard within tight deadlines & manage a work schedule with minimal support or guidance.
We will be reviewing applications for interview as they’re submitted.
