Hays Accountancy & Finance are pleased to be supporting this leading global business in Great Yarmouth who are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to take ownership of their high-volume and complex Purchase Ledger. This role will be based on-site in Great Yarmouth 5-days a week and offering an excellent benefits package.
Your new role
In this Purchase Ledger job, you will have responsibility for processing end-to-end purchase invoices for the Great Yarmouth and other UK sites as well as their overseas operations, which will involve the team processing circa 1,000 purchase invoices per week.

You will be expected to take responsibility for obtaining PO numbers, checking line managers\' authorisation to approve invoices through to preparing payments runs and responding to supplier queries.

As an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk, your typical skills will involve high volume data entry, setting up new suppliers & agreeing payment terms, checking POs, reconciling GRN's and reconciling statements to ensure the cost has been allocated to the correct cost code & site as well as the correct legal entity. You will also deal with staff expenses, pro forma invoices, PayPal accounts, credit card payments and foreign currency payments.

This is a crucial role for the business as you will be responsible for the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger department and be supported by the wider finance team including the Financial Controller.
What you will need to succeed
You will have proven experience of processing high-volume and complex purchase invoices, ideally across multiple sites. You will have the confidence to take ownership of supplier queries and agree a solution to resolve these queries. It is expected you will be confident with Excel and be able to build internal relationships, to ensure all internal procedures are followed and suppliers are paid on time.
