Chase & Holland are excited to be working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business based in Sheffield who are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their exciting team.

As Purchasing Assistant, you will support the Procurement Team with day to day operational needs and the delivery of an efficient and effective procurement service.

Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
- Process orders accurately and in line with all category management instructions and ensure compliance
- Develop a clear understanding of the business needs associated with allocated categories of expenditure
- Maintain and improve product knowledge, supplier information and market knowledge in relation to clients and business unit work streams
- Work under pressure during high volume periods whilst ensuring compliance to all department targets and objectives
- Price materials and select the most appropriate supplier
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a production and competitive relationship
- Monitor supplier performance
- Use and maintain purchasing system to monitor the progress of orders and suppliers
- Ensure that current supplier performance data is logged
- Oversee and check export documentation for orders being dispatched
- Purchasing administration to update the Information about orders and progress and make sure that it will be available
Hours: Full-time, Monday (7:45am – 4pm) and Tuesday to Friday (8am – 4pm) 45 minute lunch
Required Skills & Experience:
- Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise work
- Driven, with a pro-active approach to work and finding solutions
- Strong communication skills
- A team player
- Experience of working with MRP/ERP stock control systems
- Strong using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
