Our client is an established manufacturer on the outskirts of Swadlincote. They are doing extremely well and now have an opening for a Purchasing Assistant to join their Purchasing team. Your main purpose will be to control stocking levels ensuring no shortages or overstocking. General duties will entail:
- Placing orders progressing through to delivery
- Liaison with planning ensuring goods are on site when required
- Reviewing stock reports on given areas
- Modification of deliveries as production demands
- Distribution of delivery information from suppliers
- Ensuring maintenance of costing and purchasing price records
- Assisting with the sourcing of new or alternative products
- Support Purchasing Department with administration duties
This role would suit someone who has worked with the purchasing function but it is by no means essential. However, you should have great organisational skills, be confident with IT and have fantastic communication skills.
