SalaryAn opportunity has arisen for a fantastic business based in Ripley for a Purchasing Assistant to join their purchasing team. The Purchasing Assistant will be working with the Purchasing Manager in the purchase process, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing suppliers. The role primarily will be data administration, raising orders and liaising with suppliers, collaborate with relevant managers and directors.
Duties include:
- Assist the manager with demand and shortfall planning, and communications
- Systems maintenance and reporting
- Process purchase orders for suppliers and sub-contractors
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Assist with OTIF (on time delivery in full)
- Coordinate with manager to monitor inventory and determine supply needs
- Ensure stock accuracy on ERP, involvement in stock cycle counts
- Help prepare weekly / monthly statistics and reporting
- Assist in other duties as requested
As the Purchasing Assistant you will have purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing environment and possess good SAP knowledge. You will also possess procurement technical skills including negotiation skills and contract drafting.
In return you will be offered a salary of £26,000 - £28,000 depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with an hour for lunch; this is fully office based. Additionally, you will be offered 20 days annual leave, increasing 1 day a year up to 25, plus statutory bank holidays.
