Purchasing Assistant

Position: Purchasing Assistant

Location - Crawley

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure stock levels are maintained at suitable levels throughout the year for a defined list of accounts.
• Raising purchase orders, by analysing trends using company data and IT systems to make correct purchasing decisions.
• Checking order confirmations for accuracy and updating the system with correct pricing and delivery dates.
• Developing relationships with suppliers to obtain exceptional service levels.
• Working with freight companies to achieve timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Working with the internal sales team to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Maintaining the company systems to ensure accurate information is available for forecasting and for other departments to use.
• Maintaining delivery date integrity on the system and expediting overdue Purchase Orders
• Assist with co-ordination of vendor claim recovery process.
• Assist with maintaining records on customs import records.
• Co-ordination of key indirect procurement services as directed.
• New product set up and ongoing maintenance of product data on the system.

Qualifications:

• Strong administrative and numerical skills.
• Previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks efficiently.
