Position: Purchasing Assistant
Location - Crawley
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure stock levels are maintained at suitable levels throughout the year for a defined list of accounts.
- Raising purchase orders, by analysing trends using company data and IT systems to make correct purchasing decisions.
- Checking order confirmations for accuracy and updating the system with correct pricing and delivery dates.
- Developing relationships with suppliers to obtain exceptional service levels.
- Working with freight companies to achieve timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Working with the internal sales team to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Maintaining the company systems to ensure accurate information is available for forecasting and for other departments to use.
- Maintaining delivery date integrity on the system and expediting overdue Purchase Orders
- Assist with co-ordination of vendor claim recovery process.
- Assist with maintaining records on customs import records.
- Co-ordination of key indirect procurement services as directed.
- New product set up and ongoing maintenance of product data on the system.
Qualifications:
- Strong administrative and numerical skills.
- Previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks efficiently.
