Purchasing & Contracts Manager

Excited to be working exclusively with our client who is looking to appoint a Purchasing & Contracts Manager to join their busy manufacturing site.

This is a stand-alone role and the Purchasing & Contracts Manager will manage and undertake all aspects of procurement - direct, indirect, sub-contract and capex spend and will work with key Suppliers across multiple programs to enable the supply of products and services to support the business.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• End-to-end tendering including negotiating contracts, supplier evaluation and managing supplier performance
• Supporting project delivery schedules by raising purchase orders and documentation
• Responsibility for placing and managing sub-contracts and being directly involved in the overall decision and contracting process
• Identifying market risks/opportunities and supplier capabilities on all current projects
• Liaise with the Project Lead and other key stakeholders to develop and produce Supply Chain Strategies and Life Cycle Management Documentation
• Planning and forecasting analysis
• Inventory Management
• Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate procurement risks
• Process mapping of all processes and looking at process improvement within the purchasing department

Knowledge and experience required for the role:

• Proven experience working in a similar Purchasing and Contracts role within an engineering/Oil & Gas manufacturing organisation
• Strong all-round procurement experience
• Experience of project-based procurement and delivering to schedules
• Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes
• Technical procurement knowledge of purchasing steels, carbon, pipes, wiring etc
• Can work independently and manage/prioritise multiple tasks
• Strong communicator who can represent Supply Chain at meetings with Stakeholders and Customers
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
