Benjamin Edwards are delighted to be working exclusively for an established and expanding organisation recruiting for a Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator.
As Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator, you will ensure timely fulfilment of sales orders in line with customer requirements and keep them updated with the status. The Operations team works alongside various departments coordinating each step of the sales order until it is delivered to the customers. As Logistics & Purchase Coordinator you will be communicating with customers across the UK and with overseas factories, shipping and transportation agents and be a strong support to the Sales team.

The role of the Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator
- Raising Purchase Orders, Delivery Notes, and making transportation arrangements of palletised goods through network partners
- Checking, reporting and ensuring that transport costs of each delivery is in line with sale orders
- Building relationships with hauliers whilst allocating stock (considering timescales, value, volume and balancing some sensitive trading relationships), giving authorisation for orders to be picked from the warehouse and booking the stock in for delivery/collection
- Resolve customer disputes/issues regarding shortages, damages, urgent and late deliveries
- Understand each stage of a customer order and progress where possible (minimum order values, proformas, purchase orders, transport quote etc)
- Monitoring incoming deliveries from overseas factories
- Effective communication with warehouse team for them to function efficiently
The ideal candidate for the role of Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator
- A confident communicator with can do attitude, with a polite but firm telephone manner and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, customers, and service providers
- Experience within a comparable customer service or logistics role
- Proficient in CRM Software i.e. Sage/Xero & Microsoft packages (Excel and Word)
- Immediately available
