Our Client, a well-established Health and Safety Consultancy based in Wolverhampton are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team.
This role will initially be the main support to a highly experienced H&S Consultant in delivery and upselling of services to ensure all clients’ needs are met. It is a genuine opportunity to develop your career within the field of Health and Safety and progress to a Consultant position.
A competitive starting salary of £25,000 plus monthly bonus of up to £1000 per month.
The successful Health & Safety Coordinator will be required to:-
- Manage incoming enquiries, providing quotations for additional services.
- Update Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMs).
- Provide an exceptional level of customer service, dealing with incoming customer enquiries, responding to PPE and H&S Training requirements, applying relevant H&S legislation.
- Draft new client H&S policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Write and amend COSHH Assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Assist with the new client health checker to assess safety compliance.
- Act as a stand in for Senior H&S Consultant.
- Provide advice and guidance in absence of Senior Consultant.
- Upsell additional safety services.
- Please note this role may include occasional travel to the client’s site in order to conduct audits/risk assessments/accident investigations/fire assessments and COSHH assessments. Initially this will be approximately once a month, however if you desire to progress to a H&S Consultant role, travel will become more frequent.
- Initiate and assist with SSIP applications including CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor and Construction Line.
- Set up remote client portals to give client access to safety documentation.
The ideal Health & Safety Coordinator will have:-
- Experience of working within health and safety, ideally as a Health and Safety Coordinator, Administrator or Advisor.
- NEBOSH or related qualification/ IOSH accreditation. Please note you must have at a minimum started studying this qualification, if not completed.
- Experience undertaking risk assessments and method statements.
- Experience working within the construction sector (desirable not essential).
- Experience completing SSIP applications, (CHAS, SafeContractor.) (Desirable.)
- Good administration skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build a strong rapport.
- Strong IT skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Logical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Please note that the initial role will be office based so a driving licence is not essential, however should you wish to progress to a H&S Consultant level, a full UK driving licence would be needed in order to take this step. Consultant role will involve travel to client’s sites.
