Purchasing Manager

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join a well-established company.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Location: New Mills, High Peak.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience.

About The Role:

The company is a leading supplier and maintainer of renewable Power Generation equipment nationwide and are looking to bring on board a Purchasing Manager to join the team.

Key Duties:

• Responsible for all procurement and supply chain functions for Environ Consultants Ltd.
• Day to day procurement for an engineering and fabrication business and larger site-based projects with values of circa £20m+
• Perform strategic procurement activities, proactively search for the best deals & more suitable supply chain.
• Accountable for building and maintaining supplier relationships and partnerships.

Key Accountabilities:

• Managing daily procurement and supply chain matters and placement of purchase order and ensuring delivery performance through order acknowledgements
• Responsible for negotiating costs and
• Responsible for identifying suppliers and continue building relationships with existing suppliers
• Monitor and controlling QCD performance and supply chain analytics to reduce cost and improve effectiveness
• Management of both indirect & direct procurement including service contracts
• Collaborate with Environ team, the Projects Director, Site based Project Team and Engineering Workshop Manager
• Understand interdependencies within the business and processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proactively develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
• Technical/Engineering/Fabrication/Manufacturing background - preferred
• CIPS Qualified ideally
• Strong negotiation & networking skills to achieve optimal terms
• Experience of using MRP (Materials Resource Planning) software – Statii preferred
• Supply chain Risk Management assess, manage and mitigate risks
• Project management skills
• Financially literate.
