We are excited to be working with an innovative designer and supplier of niche electrical products, who are on the look-out for a Purchasing Manager. With every aspect of product development being in-house, based in Hebden Bridge, the ideal person will be ensuring the integrity of the entire process, guaranteeing a quality standard.
In this vital role you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the successful standard of day-to-day running, within the Purchasing Team. The ideal Purchasing Manager candidate will have a desired work history in the electronic or manufacturing industry. Our client is looking for a proactive, problem-solving & progressive mentality, for continual improvement and success.
Main Responsibilities:
* Work with various teams across the company to ensure quality, cost and on time delivery of raw materials
* Develop and maintain both existing and new systems of material storage
* Management of Buyers responsible for subcontractors & suppliers
* Setting of appropriate KPIs
* Manage aspects of the MRP cycle and supplier forecasts
* Review purchasing strategies
* Managing a department of specialist's
* Travel to meet suppliers within the UK and overseas
* Maintain stock holding to agreed minimum levels
* Oversee negotiation with key suppliers for annual requests for quotations
* Identify potential suppliers to meet Company's technology, cost, quality, and sustainability requirements.
* Collaborate on NPI projects
* Manage the maintenance of ERP supplier data & purchase records
* Working to improve purchasing systems and processes
Skills required:
* Prior professional experience in either electronics or manufacturing industry
* Comprehensive understanding of MRP/ERP systems
* Negotiation skills
* Knowledge of establishing supplier agreements/pricing strategies
* Time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines
* Ability to motivate and manage a team
* Problem solving abilities
* Continuous improvement mentality
* Self-Motivated
* Computer literate in MS office software, specifically Excel
Desirable skills
* Experience in bespoke metal work including extrusions and sheet metal
* Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Level 4
* Advanced Excel skills
As the successful Purchasing Manager, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £40,000 to £45,000 per annum working Monday to Thursday 8:15am to 5:15pm with the benefit 8:15am to 12:15pm on a Friday.
