Key Duties for the Purchasing Manager:
- To develop and implement sustainable sourcing strategies that support the business objectives.
- To identify, negotiate and implement collaborative relationships with key suppliers where appropriate.
- Negotiate and implement contracts, through a range of tendering processes to meet business needs
- Identify and recommend suppliers whilst seeking to rationalise the supply chain
- To provide ongoing support to the Manufacturing and Support teams through sourcing strategies and pricing forecasts.
Experience and Qualifications Required for the Purchasing Manager:
- Experienced procurement manager / Purchasing Manager with a background in manufacturing or engineering.
- A deep understanding of strategic procurement and sourcing methodologies, including contract negotiations and key performance measures - RFTs etc.
- Comprehensive understanding of electronics buying
- Skilled negotiator adept at managing complex negotiations to realise efficiencies within the supply chain.
- CIPS qualification - Minimum level 4
- SAP and MRP experience are required.
- Degree level educated.
