Elevation are proud to be working exclusively, once again, with one of our key clients in the Engineering world.
Based on a modern, state-of-the-art site on the outskirts of Sheffield with excellent travel routes to and from them, our client is a leader in their niche field.
They are looking for a Purchasing Manager to head up a growing team and take full responsibility for the forecasting and planning of purchasing requirements as well as manage processes and transactions for the business in line with S&OP process.
£40,000 - £45,000 per annum (may consider up to £50,000 depending on experience.)
Responsibilities in Brief:
- Creating and implementing best practice Procurement and Supply Chain vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Contributing to new business initiatives and projects and reviewing the impact on manufacturing activities.
- Developing clear accountability for raw material, consumables, and external manufacturing spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
- Supporting the development of a unified procurement strategy for all direct and indirect spend category and build alignment across the business to support execution.
- Leading the execution of supply chain strategies and plans.
- Overall ownership of the supplier management process.
- Monitoring and proactively addressing performance and financial metrics.
- Identifying business improvement opportunities within the organisation.
- Implementing and managing KPIs for each area of responsibility.
- Managing and coaching a high-performing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Developing a strong sense of cooperation and teamwork with a focus on common business goals and KPIs.
- Contributing to the annual budget and forecasts and all capital expenditure proposals, as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
Ideal Candidate:
- Background in manufacturing/engineering essential, This is fast-moving moving production, so someone wanting a fast-paced production line would suit this business
- CIPS, or a degree in business, supply chain, or related fields and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience ideal
- Strong Excel and MRP/ERP skills
- Proven experience of Team management
- Proven experience of developing supplier relationships, managing vendor performance and successful negotiations internationally.
